Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using Shelf (“we,” “us,” or “our”), a Shopify application available at app.shelfplugin.com.

By installing or using Shelf, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the application.

1. Service Description

Shelf is a promotional planning tool for Shopify merchants. It watches publicly available promotional activity from brands you choose to follow and surfaces opportunities in your Shopify admin dashboard. You see what leading brands are doing — promos, email campaigns, product launches — and launch your version from one screen.

All analysis is generated by artificial intelligence and displayed as a read-only dashboard within Shopify admin. Shelf is informational only — it is not financial, legal, or business advice.

2. Billing

  • Price: $50/month, billed through Shopify’s billing system (EVERY_30_DAYS cycle)
  • Free trial: 7-day free trial on first install
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through Shopify admin (Settings > Apps and sales channels)
  • Refunds: No refunds for partial billing periods. Your access continues through the end of the current billing period after cancellation.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

All competitive intelligence displayed in Shelf is generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic’s Claude API). You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Shelf does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any analysis
  • You should independently verify information before making business decisions
  • AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of publicly available data
  • Shelf is a planning aid, not a decision-making authority

4. Data and Privacy

Full details of how we collect, use, and handle your data are described in our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • You retain ownership of your data at all times
  • Shelf has a limited license to process your data solely for providing the service
  • All data sent to our AI provider is anonymized before transmission
  • This license terminates immediately on uninstall, and all data is deleted

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Shelf is not liable for business decisions made based on analysis provided by the service
  • The service is provided “as is” without warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding any claim
  • Shelf is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

6. Service Availability

  • Shelf aims for high availability but does not guarantee uptime
  • Analysis frequency (daily/weekly) is a target, not a guarantee
  • We may modify analysis schedules or processing behavior without notice
  • Scheduled maintenance will be communicated when possible

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Shelf to engage in any activity that violates Shopify’s Terms of Service
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the application
  • Use the service to systematically collect or harvest data for purposes unrelated to your store’s promotional planning
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service

8. Termination

  • By you: Uninstall the app from your Shopify admin. All data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.
  • By us: We may terminate your access for violation of these Terms, Shopify’s Terms, or applicable law. We will provide notice where reasonably possible.
  • Effect of termination: Your right to use the service ceases immediately. All data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Shopify admin dashboard or email. Continued use of Shelf after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
